I recently found a cassette recording of me at six years old, singing an old Roma song. I have loved the club since I was a child, so it means everything to see my team play in the Champions League. It means facing strong and highly-decorated teams, made up of great champions; but I think we can learn a lot from playing them. When we drew Barcelona in the quarter-final, my reaction was not one of fright, but joy and curiosity.
Personally, I have always loved Barcelona as a team and I also love the city. I have been to the Camp Nou several times and the idea of facing such a star-studded team was immediately exciting.
Even after the big 4-1 loss in the first leg, I never lost hope of qualifying. I had decided to take all three of my daughters to the game, and that gave me the energy to cheer for Roma in a match that could have been considered hopeless.
